The Association of Chemical and Related Industry Employers in the State of Hesse represents the sector with the highest turnover in the State of Hesse. In 2009, the Hessian chemical industry generated an overall turnover of 21.4 billion Euros.

With this, the sector’s share of the total Hessian processing industry amounted to 24.4 percent. With a 14.7 percent turnover share in the overall German chemistry industry, the State of Hesse is also the third largest chemical industry location among the German states following North Rhine-Westfalia and Rhineland-Palatinate.
